last of the month we will be
Home I told John Linn this
morning that He could find
me on the fourth of July in
the Top of paps cherry Tree
[page 2]
on the wood Pile and the way things
looks I think I will be able to
be as good as my word we all
told Bill Jones He would miss
it By taking a furlough but
He was Bound to Go and when
he comes Back Here He wont
find us Here for we will be
on our way Home before that
time But I cant Blame bill
for Every Letter that temp Has
wrote was dear Bill Try and get
a forlough and at last He got one
they say we are going to Loose
our last Enstallment of Bounty
by being musterd our before
our Time is our but I dont
think its Right for we aught
to Have that Hundred dollars
our Regt Has done more work
than anny three on year
Regts that came out when
we did that is what is the matter
[page 3]
I see According to the northern
Papers and the letters you write
that the people of the north are
down on old Billy Sherman
but if them folks that finds
so much falt with Him would
do as much towards Putting
down the Rebbelion as He Has
it would be more credit to them
thy are ownly afraid old Billy
will flank them out of some good
fat office that is what is the
matter they Know He is Hell
on a flank movement and
He will Expose some of them yet
and flank them in the End if
they dont keep out a good strong
Skirmish line I dont want you
to Send anny more Post Stamps
nor money in letters for we
will get away from Here before
long and then if there is nothing
in the letters and they are lost
[page 4]
it wont matter so much but
keep writing as usual for they
Say our letters will follow us

well mimy there is an End
To all things and there was an
End to this war and it will
be a joyful day when we
all get Home again But I
guess I must close for this time
the Blintown Boys are all Hairy
End upwards John Linn
sayes we can Hear tell of Bill
Jones But we dont Hear of his
getting away from Home and
He must keep His nose in temps
