Dear Sister in law and nease
i take the opertunity of droping
you a fiew lines in answer to
your leter wit[c]he i recieved yester
day wee are all well and hope
when this reaches you it will
find you the same i am sory
to hear that John has went off
to the army but i suppose he
went for one year and i expect
the war will bee over beefor that
time you state in your leter
that altman sent some money
to toun and you said for me
to come out or i would lose
my money but i ant a fraid
of that and if i would send
after it i cold not get it for
it is sent to John if eny body
gose to town from thare i wish
you would send after it or

send with the hack driver
if you think it will bee
safe and when you get it
pleas let me no and i will
come out if i can altman
said he sent you one doler to
pay the express on the money and
if that dont pay it you can
pay the rest and i will make
it rite when i come out
i will close fror the present
i remane you friend
