much respect I take my pencill to answer
your welcom letter I receivd of the 2[?] this eavni
ng I was happy to here that you was
all well I am well hoping that theas
fiew lines will find you injoying the
sam blessing we ar still here yet but I
doant know how long we will be here Governor Curten has went to Washington
to make provisions to get all of the Pa troops
home as fast as they Posably can be paid
& sent home & I think in the inside
of 4 weeks we will know more a bout
it & we may soon [??] There has bean a
heep of rane here this week & the
watters is very high we had a little
snow here this morning I got a
letter from Brown the other day
& he was well W Allison was there
that day he rote to me Brown is
44 miles from whare we ar I wood
like to know how the bounty matter
is or if he got it ot not or what
is [rong?] the papers that wasent [made?]
right was sent here a bout 3 or 4 [???]

have to give Thomas B Allison an
order for to lift the money for
you or us I ges he might as well
ceep it for me til I come home
for I think I will be home before
long & meby I will by a peace of land
land handy home Thare will be some
horces soald at harisburgh cheep I
may by a bugy horse if I can get it
cheep & I will take him home with
me I have been getting a good meny
lettors for some time back & the do me
as much good to get them as it does you
to get them form me you will as well
as me be under a grate compliment to
Mr Js Brown for righting for you to
me & when your [???] comes return the
compliment & I also will I must clos
for this time right & answer this letter soon
