Dear wife & Daughter I take
my pen this morning to inform
you that I still injoy good
health & hope that theas fiew
lines will find yo all the same
I came up yesterday to head
quarters to se if my furlow
had come & It hadent come
yet but it may come this morning
& if it dose I will start home tomorow
or Sunday or from the time it
is dated & if it dosent come
today I will go back to petro
leum & will get some 1 to fetch
it to me But the nues is good
up here the mustering officer
toald Winselow that he alowd
to muster us our on the 2nd
of September at the furthest

& I understand that he say
ed that he could musters us
out moast eny day but he is
ceeping us to get us the bounty
& we will draw 33.33 more after
this munth is in then we wood
draw to be musterd out in this
month & think if reports
is true we will all be home
before long But when the
furlow comes if eny dos
I will go home I am in the
Block house whare J pepper
& G Gray stays
