Webb Mary and Martha
I thought I would try and let
you know what I am
doing well I have been
down to the creek with Mr
Vance and Dizbrow [2] washing
out our cloths I suppose if
my little girls was down here
they would help us wash
our cloth well you must
wate until we come home
and then they can help us you
must try and be good girls
and help mother and that will
do just as well I hope you
will try and mind mother
and do just as she tells you
I should be glad to be home
with you and help you eat
some of them apples and some
of those pancakes with a
little of that butter on them
that mother has in the tub
but I and you will have to
wait a little longer before
[Page 2]
I can come home to you I
hope you will be good
girls and go to school
and learn your books you
must mind your teacher at all times
and try to please her I was
sorry to hear that you was
sick the last time I herd
from home but I expect you
are better by this time I
expect to get a letter from
mother this afternoon but
I may not get it until tom-
-orrow tell Webb he must
write to me the next time mother
does I want to see if he
improves any in writing
I expect he is going to school
these days I want you to
tell me what little Elly
is doing whether he creeps on
out and if he eats any
apples or not I must stop
now for my paper is full
