[1] Sunday afternoon
Dr. Hammond has just
brought me a bundle of letters
which have been sent up from
the regiment one from Walter
and four from home one with
two dollars in and one with
post stamps in I was glad
to get the letters and hear
how you had been getting
along for the last six weeks
I was sorry to hear that
you was haveing the hoop-
-ing cough up there if the
children gets it you must
do the best you can with
them I dont know as I shall
send home any more money
now for I dont expect
to get any more pay
until my time is out
I put 10 dollars in a letter

last sunday I have
sent 30 dollars in all tell
me in your next if they
sold Jim out or not
It is most night and
I dont think of any thing
more and I will stop
writing for this time
