Dear Sister
I take this oppertunity of informing you
that I received your letter yesterday one of the boys
come from the Regt and fetch them to me and I was
glad to hear from you that you are well and I
would like to be as the same as you I am as about
the same as I was when I wrote to you before
They now have sent me to the General Hospital
Now so it is a gay place hear we get a half a
loaf of Bread a day to eat and some tea or coffee
thair is water be witch we get a cup of soop
thair is hot water with littlel greece through
over it and a peace of meat as big as a walnet for
our dinner so that I thik we get as fat as a mat
on it Well I ante got mutch paper to write on
for this all I have got and I have not got an[y]
sta[m]pes or nothing so I ges i will juit writting
till I can get some paper to write on. Well
the Boys started off day before Yesterday
to the wright and I think they will have
a hot time of it so you may look out
for a big Battel hear they are shooting jus
livley as we can hear them as they are going to
lay 9 Bridges a cross the river so the cannon
are shooting and trying to lay them at Fredricksburg
and I think they will have a hot time of
it we can hear them from hear their is
no news come from the front yet so
that I can tell you about it I will
write to you some time again well I ante in
this Battle any how with out we have
