my Dear wife
I now take the
pleasure of wrighting
a few lines hoping
thay will finde
you all well as thay leave
us at present we hav
got those things at last
and we are very well
pleased witch them thay
fit verey well mine
is rather shorte in the
tale we should hav
got them suner if we
had asked fore a bundel
instid of a box as
you tolde us thay
ware in a box

but it turned out
verey wet but the
boys stood it as it
had bin put of[f] twice
before Thare was
aboute eighteene 18000 thousand
souldgers present
infintrey artilerey and

from the tropes and
the rore of artilery
and the difrent bands
it was a tuching seane
as he arived the bandes

Conkering hearow
comes it fetched teares

inspect the troopes
then he takes his poste
on the righte of the
diveshon and the [different?]
troopes pass him that
is to show how the troops march by company
he is a keene looking
man the troops hav

him he lookes right
thrue you at the
first sight he stood
the strom just like
the men no over cotes
on we all stood in
it fore tow houres

wat a soldger expects
all kindes of weather
I made a mistake in
my last letter
It is general porter
division gen stone
is commander in
cheaf of all the
cavelry we hav not
got much time to
wright letters now
we are intilled to
Sunday but we
do not get much
good of it we hav
bin working all
