wife i take the
opertunety of sendig
this small mite it
may be of sum
use to you I will
send you eight dollers
in this letter wich
will make eighteene
dollers this pay I
was thinking of bying
a pare of bootes fore
thease goverments bootes
are not worthe much
this kinde of weather
I do not want to run
my self shorte
just now

more we are all
well hoping thease
few lines will finde
you all the same
the weather heare is
still wet and mudey
it getes worse in
stid of better
I was expecting a letter
from you as i get
one aboute this time
everey weeke I left
this letter to the
last minnet

dry stockin on our
feete we are all
a like fore that
no bootes would
keepe our feete dry
