Dear wife
I now sit down to
wright a few lines to
you I hope thay will
finde you all well as
thay leave us at present
I receved your kinde and
welcome letter thy last
friday night I hav the
pleasure of wrighting
this letter in answer
of yours when i wrote
to you [Rea?] last week
I did not expect to
wright to you from hear
as we did expected to
moove from hear

we do not now the minute
we may leave hear it
may be to morrow it
may not be at all
it is rumered that som
of the divisiones hav started
everey thing is in readness
fore a moove we had
two days rashones cooked
last week I think that
thare will be no moove
hear fore several days
as the weather hear is
verey bad it is bin
raning and Snowing hear
now pretey freley i am
on horse garde to day
i do not like to
get on gard on sundays
everey thing is gowing
on about the same

the hardest winter thay
ever saw in this parte
of the cuntray thay
never saw the winter
