Dear wife
I now take the pleasure
of wrighting fewe
lines to you hoping
thay will finde you
all well as thay leave
us all at present
we left farfax on
friday at noone and
arived at camp marcy
at dusk we left
camp marcy at two
o clock on saturday
nade our way to
alexandria thrue a drenching
rane we went fouther
then we should hav
done as the capten got
off the rode it was
one of the hardest night
ore days we ever put

soldering our capten says
it was one the hardest
he ever saw thare is
a grate meney solders
hear we put up in
a stable on saturday
night we left it yesterdy
and came to the cortehouse
it is verey good qurters
in hear thare is only
two companeys of us hear
oures and one out of the
eight rigment
I will wright in a few
days more perticlure
i know not what we
are hear fore
I wish you had sean
those wooden guns in
