Dear wife i
take the opertunity
of writing a few lines
to you i hope thay
will finde you all
well as thay leave
us all at present
I receved your kinde
and welcome litter dated the 6
and was glad to hear
that you ware all well
you say that the
presedent has caled out
three hundred 300.000 thousand
more men i think
he will hav some
troble to rase them
as trade is pretey briske

a nother reason is our
men is not used as
well as thay might
be if thay used the
men better thay might
get a grate meney
more then thay would
if a man tells the truth
he canot send aney thing
good home fore ofecers
to curse men as thay
to call them SB and
so on i know if all
the rigments ware
used as we are thay
would never want
to go a soldering agane
thare sems to be a
grate dissatisfaction
in this rigment just
now among the ofecers
thay are resining ther
best we hav in the
rigment

camping plase fore
both horses and men
the river is filed the
diferent kinde of boates
loaded with comesereys
stores of diferent kind

he says he is not well
he donte like worke

be shuing our horses
