Dear Wife sisters
and Brothers I
take this opportunety
of Writing a few
lines to you hoping
thay will find you
all well as thay leave
us at Present
hav just receaved
your letter dated 27
and note I call it
a note as it is not
dated I am glad
to hear that you
all enjoyed christmis
so well and that
all things came of[f] well

can use my skates
so well I should like
hav bin glad to se
him skate on them
I should be glad
to hear of our anne
geting up to see charles
I got her letter a
few days agow same
day as i Posted one
fore you evry thing
is gowing on hear about
the same Pickiting all
the time we hav just
came in to night after
four days Picket we
ware nearley frose last
night out on the
mountain Picketing
the weather is veary
cold hear

men hav got Boots
now but one ore
two I beleave I
think thay will get to

wrote Warrenton is
forty five 45 miles
from Washington we
hav no captain Lt
Hyle is in command
of our company Lt
