Dear Mother
I have just
ritten to Jake and there
aint no more news to
tell then I have told in
Jakes letter we expect to go
to harpers ferry in a few
days but I aint certain
as we will go yet & we cant
tell till the colonel
comes back from washington
we expect to get paid of[f] the
first of october and then
I shall send you a draft
of $20 and I will write to
you how you can get the
money on it, I am well
I aint been sick of any account
Since I have been out here.

I hope that you will try
to get the debts all paid
up and then try to keep out
of debt you need not bee
scart about the milk that
we buy they darnt put poison
in it but we cant get
much more now but I will
stop now you must write
to me as often as you can
tell father to write to me
and all the rest of the
folks, I sent Jake a dollar
of pensylvania money and I
dont know as it was good
if it aint send it back for
it will pass here and I will
send him some more now
