October the 24th 1864
Deer wife and child i take
another opertunity of riting to you
hoping that those few lines will find
you in good good health as it leaves me
in good health at present i reseveid
your letter the 24th and was glad
that i ad not rote to the old
country yet but i will tell her what
i that think when i do rite when you
get my letters you will see who i
voted for i ment to send the votes
home in the last letter but i forgot
to put them in it before i closed
it but may bee you will find
them in this if i dont forget them
harison underwood says that he as
sent home after some things and
if they get them ready i dont know
but you ad better put them together
in one box then it wil bee

cheaper for us boath i think
but i want wan you to get them
ready as soon as you can and about
my pay you will see in them other
letters that i have sent if i ad had
a discharge from the ospitill i could
have got it but i did not so
