Ever dear Sisters
I would answer
ed your kind letter before now
if I had of been able I have not
been well since I was at Sis
Loulies I took cold at West Station
& kept takeing one cold on top
of another until I had to go
to bed & send for the Dr I was
so low spirited I thought I was
going to die the Dr said my liver
did not act was the cause of me
being so low spirited I feel quite
well now but so low spirited
that that it looks like I will
certainly go crazy oh why did you
& brother Mc not come by if you
could not of staid but a day or too

it would of been better than
not at all tell Brother Mc I
will never forgive him he pro
mised me he would come by as
he took Fannie Lou to school if
he was obliged to go on with our
dear mother you & him could of
come by Well what do you
think prepare your self Jen
nie & Fount Herron are to be marr
ied wednesday morning & go over to
Parrishes for dinner they are not
going to have any weading or in
fair I am so sorry for Aunt she
sits & cryes all the time Jennie
never said a word to her ma unt
il day before yesterday about it
Fount had written for Lou Herron
& Henrietta Jones to come down & had
spoke to a parson in Panola when
Fount asked Uncle for her he told

him if they were determined to
marry he could not help it but
that he was done with them if
they did Aunt will not give him
a chance to ask her for Jennie Aunt
says to think of the pains she has
taken with her & now to think
she is going to marry that long
legged Snipe she had a thousand
times better of married Jim
Tolbert Well Sis Loulie I have
nearly cryed my eyes out yesterday
& to day I have been calculateing on
going down to stay a couple of weeks
with you the last of this month
& yesterday Mr Buntin took a mu
sic teacher to board and she
is to give lessons on my Pianno dont
you know I will have a glorius
time of it he gennerally consults
with me about any thing of the

kind but he knew I would not take
her & be annoyed with the children
& stay at home therefore he arranged
it all himself I recon I will make
him sick of it yet before I am done
with him I recon you know her
sis Fannie it is Laura Reddit Hamp
Blackburns wife’s sister she went to
school to Cousin Su Gaston
Fanny Black has gone in business with
old Mr Ellis they have bought a lot
faceing our store & is putting up a
fine brick store Fanny has the mess
les verry badly Betty Kuykendall is
well she spent the day with me
the other day the last I herd of Dr Pow
ell he was in New Orleans he has got to
chargeing verry extravigantly for his work
please give my love to Brother Si Brother
Mc & all of the dear little children tell
them they must not forget me & you dear
sisters recieve the love of you ever devoted
sister Su A Buntin
