Much loved sister
I received your very
kinde letter a few days since and now
hasten to answer though I have very
little news to communicate I have got
so that I almost dread to comence writing
it is such a taske.
I received a letter from Ma
day-before-yesterday in which she
stated that brother Jim had got
home. come on furlough of foreteen
days. They wanted to discharge him
but he would not receive one, thugh
Ma said that she did not think
he would be able to come home go
back to camp. at the expiration

of his furlough. if I had of been
in his place I would have got a
discharge. and then he could of joined
any company that he whished to.
Did you get acquainted with
Rosa Nance Mr Hendersons oldest daughter
when you was at home. she married
Mr Morison about those months old
ma wrote to me that she and her
husband had parted . I was very
sory to hear it.
Sis you say that you
want me to come down with brother
Johnson when he goes. sis sais that
if I will wait two or three weeks,
that she will go with me. so I have
concluded to wait untill whe can go,
I dont suppose that a week or
too will make much diferance

with you. I have enjoyed my self
very well since I have been here
I went out and spent two
or three days with cousin Jennie last
week, I do wish that you could see
her. she is thicker than she is long
she seemes to be perfectly happy. but
it is all put on. I will have to
close as sis Sue wishes to write a
few lines and I have to write home

boy a week old & is doing pretty
well I am looking out for Nancy
every day I may be detained a li
ttle longer on her account
Hattie Davidson & Billy Saule
was married too weeks ago
how are all the children give them
our best love also Aunt Lydia
& all of our cousins shy does
cousin Betty not come home give
