Grenada Miss Jan 15 1863

Dear Uncle
I received yours of
the twelfth I was glad to here
from you I had not recieved a
letter from you sence I left
there I have no news to write
onley I came verry near freezing
yesturday I Staid with Tom
the night before I Started home
and it commensed to Sleet the
lines frose to my glovs and
I came to the creek near home
and it was Swimming I Swam
a cross I tell you it like to
have frose me. There is nothing
doing here I see no prospect of
a move now I hope we may
Stay here untill Spring the roads
are verry bad now I dont have
any fears of the forses above
here I have some fears that we
will have to go to Vixburg I
had rather to any where els that
there I havent herd from home
sence the recruits came for hour

I recivd the box you sent me
I am verry nutch abliged to
you for them I was offerd
twenty five dollars for that
box I could not part from
them. You sed you had 40 or 50
pounds of butter I can Sell it
from Six [??] to one dollar a pound
if you intend to Send it Soon

care of Maj J W Jones and I
will get it if you send it

you family and to and to all
the rest of the connection &
