I receave you letter A fiew
days ago and was glad to heare from you
I will try scrible something this morn
though reliable news is scarce, every thing
is quiet as far as I know there is a greit
deal talk of disertion but the men dont
meane any harm of what they say
Elizabeth is down heare I was over to see
her yesterday evening she looks very well
and she is making me A pare of slips
out of some bags that I farened op
that is the way to get along in this
wourld or the army I havent heard
from Jacob for some time the last
time I heard from him he was well
and said that yet staying in Staunton
I hope he will and you your pition
all wright then I can be contented
again I heard that you was going to
by A nag for A thousand Dollars of
confed shuckes I have bin making
them get up and fly for the last
month I spent one hundred dollars
but I will get it back again in
new somthing I dont know shuck or
straw I woold like to get home
this spring but I dont see any
chance they are revoked furlows down
to one out of A hundred and
detailed men dont get any and
they all say if they take them
to there companeys they will
step over the line I glory

I want you to dow a favor for me if you
have a chance if you see miss liewcrish ludwick
find out if she got A [prise?] and see what she
has to say in regard to it and let me know
if she seames to be mad about if but if she
seemes anxious to find him out tell her it
lookes like my hand writing [?] not the most
of it I was just recommending fine boy to her
that has writ to her and I wish some body
would see it to heare what she has to say
I will have to close as I have to get dinner
for my boarders you write soon and give me
all the news excuse every thin like imperfection
