Dear freinds I take my pen in
hand to Drop you a few lines to inform
you that I am well and enjoying
good helt. We are all rite yet we
havent had any attact here
yet the army is accumilateing
verry fast we have at this time
near Six thousand trupes and
more Comeing in evry train
We are Bilding a fort on the loudon
higteshights when the Bobilitions [1]
run [us?] from the Ferry we will
retreat to our fort Mr Stickley
I am getting verry tired of this
place We have enugh of meet and
Bread to eat But this Dus not
Soot my apitite at all tims I wish
you would Send me something

will Be Down here on Friday
he is going up on Wednesday I
wish you would have my shirt
washed and Send it Beck
By Dick Sonner and I will
Reward you for your Kindness
Sometime or other We are
expecting an attact here Soon
if they will wait one week
yet we will be redy to
Receive them we will get the
fort Done in thre Days yet
and then it will take all
the power of the north to
take us we have plenty
of Beef here now they took
150 head of Cattle yesterday
and 10 horses they were
going on to Washington from
ohio – we expect to eat them
all yet

Garet appropriated $30.000

from the ferry We had 10
