Dear Father
It it is with
pleasure that I seat myself to
drop you a few lines to let you
know that I am well & hope when
thes few lines come to hand thay
will find you & the wrest of
the folks well pa guss Bonham
is going to start home in afew
days & if I can get him to lead
my mare I will send hir home
& if I cant get him to take hir
I dont know when I can send
hir if you can he dont take hir
& you can send for hir conventily
& send me some cloths I would
be glad

will close as I havent time
to write much my mare is
doing know good & I wisch she
was at home thay say every prvate
that has too horses thay haft to
turn them over to the quartermaster
& I dont like the idie of that
