Cousin Jack
It is a very strang thing
indeed you have once thought of me
and indeed enough to write me a few
lines although it was but very few,
I had almost come to the conclusion
that you had forgotten me entrely
but Since I received those few lines
I feel that I am not blotted from
the Book of your rememberence.
I havent any
thing new or inresting to write at this
time, I will give you a small sketch
of my trip to wythe Co, theres a very dry
set of people up there certain,
I dont think it would do for the Sun
to shine on them much they
would dry up entirely
dont you think
they would? I dont know what I would
have done had it not been for my
kinfolks. we took dinner with Mrs
Davis and I am Compeled to say she
[page 2]
is a very clever lady indeed, & I
saw several clever ones, Cousin Jack

Meeting the 2 Sunday in May. you
must try and come home then
this has been a very lonsome day
There has been no preaching close
about here to day & I have been
writeing all day I have writing
some two or three letters to day
I am tired enough to quit
Cousin Bill wanted to know how

be long before he will get to a weading
I must close my few remarks
