February The 26th 1863. S. J. Honnoll
Dear cousin it is with pleasure I seat myself
to inform you that wee are all well at this
time and i hope these lines may find you all
well I Have nothing strange to write to you
I have not heard from you all since i left
there wee have wrote but received no answers
for there is a bad chance for letters to pass
here for this county is still flustrated by the
feds they are not in this imediate neighborhood
but they are a round in a few miles they came last
weeke and burned Warens mills in 6 mls of us and
took horses bacon hams and prisnars evry where they
went they took my brother in low A Chieves
who had joined T. M. Hames Cavelry and i
understand have sent him north Grand Father and
mother was well the last accou nt and all the
connection wee have had some sickness since i
left there i have lost my youngest child lisabeth lost
one and Jane one they Died with the scarlet rash
I have but few minuets in which to write you must
excuse me I have joined T M Hams cavelry and
will start in ten days to aonder ore this country
while this war last i may never see you all
again i request an interest in your prayers that
I may dis charge my duty to country and my God
Die hapy and get to heaven give my friends
my best respects tell cousen Williams and cousen
I would like to see them one time more

tell cousen Robert and cousen Jane that i
shal never forget them in this world cousen
rosy sindy Margret John and all the children
i would delight to see you all once more
you must write to me when you can write a letter
and send back by Uncle Jery Clark letters
you mail direct to Baldwin Miss I must bid
farwell per haps until wee meete at the bar
god I write this for me and Cacy he wants to see
you all very bad he talks of ging with me
but father thinks he had better stay with
him until summer father sends his best
respects to all yours truly
