March the 27th 1863 miss
L. A. C. B. Honnoll
Madam I again attemp to write you a fiew
lines which leavs me well and as well satisfied
as I can be with and your presance with me
I have nothing to worth your attention
nor would I write if it was not to let [you?] [???] [1]
that I have not forgotin you and ceape you
in Rememberance of me I have wrote you
seaverl letters since I parted with you and have
neaver Recieved only one and that was in Aug
186[2?] while at Camp Anderson Tennessee I hear
from you some time and you can not Imagin
the pleasure it gives me to eaven hear from
you and no that you ar living and still
[?????] and pure as Ever onest I heard from
you while at Tupelo Miss jerry gave me a peice
of paper about the sise of my little finger on it I
Distinguished your handwriting and seamed to be
the following word (Tell him houdy you no who)
the next time I heard from you was looking over
a [???] sholder to see what she was writing [2]
would it not have ben better for you to write
but you say that is no use for you to write for you
write to me at Knoxville this Letter I did not yet
fore [???] left there before the Letter had time to get there [3]
if [???] was made I would go there and get that Letter [4]

to be determined to fite [??] a gain and can but think
the lord they will [???] down some time and give
us our Independence when this is done you may look for
me for I am coming if I am living no news from the
yanks today. I saw Jerry Lindsey last night he was
well I also heard from Mary and the Children they
was all well and now my Dear friend you will be glad
to hear from some of your ould [Bous?] well Joseh
[???] is hear with me but he is married H J Grimes is [6]
also hear W A Grimes was wonded and left in Ky Wm
Mclean in in [captan?] Lindseys [co.?] N. F Tracy and
Thomas R. Kelly are at port Hutson La we got a letter
from them the other day they was well but stop there is
L. D. Vaughn he is with them Aaron Todd is hear
with me but alas the noble William Toddy and
Jesey [???] are no more John W A Johnstone belongs to
the Cavalry Polk and Dallas are at home Rob &
Ben Crewes are in the Northern Armey I have now
toled about all that I no if I have made my
letter Interesting I cannot help it and ask you
to pardon me for I never could write a mutch of
a letter and now it seams that I can not write nothing
