Dear Mother
I recived your letter
of the 19th by Fred Kimmerer and
was glad to hear from you. Fred
brought the two bottles of wine. I
was glad to get them for they <??>
good deal of good it helped
me directly and one of my mess
mates He had a very severe headache
and I give him a dose of it and
it helped him directly I could
give it all away in a little
while if would but I think I
shall keep it for my own use
I am glad to hear that pa has
a berth. The talk is now that
we are coming to camp Holt
to Recruit but I do not think

so but I think we will be
Disbanded soon as the war
is coming to an end. You had
no need of sending any paper
to me for I have plenty the
Ink was very acceptable for it
is scarce here Tell Oly to tell
mr Ryland that <???> is well
and hearty give my respects to
Aunt <Sowle?> and Sheridan and
Jane and to the Doctor tell him
I am well and hearty &c it is raining
here to day again as usual
I Believe I will have to close
this Letter as i want to write
to mr <???> Give my
Respects to all thee
freinds
