Childern
I received your leter
yesterday and was glad
To here from you I am well
and hope these few lines will
find you all well I dont no
what to rite I just started a
leter the day be fore igot your
leter I am so made to day
that I cant hardly rite I think
that Jim is a rasckel but I am
here and he is thare and
I dont no what to do I dont
no what you can do I
gess you cant do any thing
but let him alone for he
is a dog I havent never
rote to him yet and

will do as he pleases
I never had any
Confidents In him so
do the best that you can
you sa that the Capten sede
that we would be home
a gainst Cristmast I dont
think that we will be
home a ganst that time
to stay but meby I will
come to Stay a few
days but I think it is
very doutful about any
of us comen home before
spring thare cant any man
get to go home at this time
you nedent to send me
any Gloves for I can get

that Dave is ordered of[f] the
place and was glad to
here that thare was a Prospect
of senden him to Jeferson
for he is no acount let him
be where he ma if he gets
in the Penitensher he will
do his Country some good
tell me if Cass has ond up [ond = owned]
to any thing more since I
left or not to day is
a warm day and the snow
is a bout gon I beleve that
is all at this time Jim
is well rite as soon
