Dear wife and childer
I received youre leter yesterday and was glad to
here from you I am well at this time and
hope these fw lines may find you well
we have got oute money at last and I
sent you Fifteen dolars and I kep Fore dolars
I got ninteen dolars we will make another
draw soon I sent it to pap I expressed it to
Columbus and I sent pap a leter to go and get
it thare was one hundrd and twenty six dollars
in the same leter if you get this leter
before Pap gets his if you se him tell
him about it When you get that money
I want you to get you and the Childern
what you want if you dont Pay Dan

Som we will be pade soon againe when you

before Jim is sick at this time and he
has bin left behind ten miles there are
five hunderd sick men at one Place Jim

soon as he gets well he will come on
We have seventy Five thousand men here
the cars just now crost the new brig that
was burnt down by the rebels here
here are hunderds of quilts and comferts
and shoes throed a way here that we
cant pack I gived a good Pare of shoes
for three glases of sider that is all at this
John Hooston sent a blanket coat
to Columbus he wants you to tell
his wife about them so she can send
