Dear Brother it
is with pleasure
that I pen you
a few lines to
inform you that
I am well
hoping these lines may
find you in good health
Frank the Sick men that
went home on furlows
has been ordered back
i heard this eavning that
Moffat or fults wrote to
you and told you to come
to camp. and i went
and saw the colonel crittenden
and Major Abbot About it
they told me to tell you that
you need not come if you
was not Able

come you see the doctor
and get him to write a
few lines to Moffat
times is very sickly here
and i dont want you
to come.) home is the place
for you and you better
Stay there till you get
perfectly Sound and well
no man can get home now
sick or well they cant
do any thing with you if
you dont come for six
months if you hant
Able James Donlap is going
home he will give you this
we still expect a battle
tell my family that I
am well and that i will
come home when the rebles

seef and he was well
he has done some hard
marching but he is still
at Paducah. Write soon
