Camp Columbus
Dear wife
it is once more that
I take mi pen in hand
to let you no that
I am not very well
at this time but I am Still
on foot I hope when these lines
reaches you tha may find you all
well the helth of the boys is tolabel
good we have moved forty miles
futher south since i rote to you
we are nere Columbus in Tennessee
the rebels burnt the brige here
and we cant cross the river till
we bild a brige I think we will
stay here too weeks the generel
belefe is that the wore will soon
be over and I pray to God to
spede the time for I am geten
tirde laying on the ground

this time I havent got aleter from
you since I left home but I
herd from you once it has
bin tolabel cole for afew days
but not cold a nough to freez
the ground it Pleasent to
day I think we will have good
wether from this out when
you rite let me no whether
you got the money that I sent
you i sent you twenty
dolars the first time and
then sent you too dolars
in aleter I lost mi Pocket Book
yesterday and all that I had in
it I hade eighty five cence in it
that fore dolar not that I
got from Daniel mcClintec
and seven Postage Stamps
when you rite tell me whether
Lidy has come out or not
let me no how mi
mare works and how she looks
