June the 19th 1864
Dear Sister it is with
pleisure I seat my Self to
answe your kind and
welcom lines which I recieved
in catharines leter which
found me wel and glad to
hear from you we ar Stil in
the same place we was
when I rote to her the other
day and I supose you wil hear
from me thair so I haint much
new to rite our camp is
in A corn field wher the corn
was ne hi tho it is not
worth any thing

now it has bin
raining the last two
days which makes our camp
very mudy I was glad to hear
that the children has got
their rings I sent two to
liaries two girls I hope tha
wil get them al rite wel
their aint much Shooting
in frunt this morning which
is something new to us for
we hav got so use to the shooting
of musket and canon that
we cant hardly sleep at
nite unles the sound of
canon is shaking the ground
tho I aint tired of
soldier life yet

good of our country
I wold be glad to see the
day when our land wil not
be invaided with the traitors
and al the Soldiers can return
to their friends tho cince the
first of may I hav saw meny
A good soldier lain in their
Graves to rest far from their
friends wel I wil close for
this time hoping to hear
from you soon rite often
I like to hear from home
