I have fifty cents yet but
the boys is generally out of money
catherine I would like to have
your like ness if it could be sent
by mail I would like to have
it to look at a gain when I am
thinking of home I think I will
get back home but I wont know
when soldiering suits me firstrate
you wanted to know what we had to
eat we have been on short rations
for sever al days but the Train
got here from memfis last night
and we will fare better as for
sleeping we do very well we get
leaves and grass to lay on and sleepe
warm the weather is warm here
The boys went in swimming
<?> is nice I saw lots of the boys
going round Barefooted but I
did not try it my self

it rained very hard here last
night but our tent did not
leak much so we slept well
to day is very nice warm day
I have not got my <?????> yet
I ll not need them here I will
write to your father the next
leter I write I am a shamed that
I have not wrote to him before now
but soldiers has a bad chance to
write if you have wrote when you
get this write a gain tell Dad to
write to me I have red the letters over so
often since I got them that they are
nearly wore out I am a long ways
from home but my mind is allways
with you and the chil dren this
army is a sight the war cant last
long if it dos the government is broke
