are quiet in your neighborhood I am
glad to hear of that I understand
the reverend Jesse Sullivan received
a letter from an unknown person I
would like to know how he liked
it. well you would like to know who
wrote it it was myself that wrote it
& if I could see him I could tell him
a little more you must not tell
any one who wrote it or it might
make his Luthran blood boil I
will let the old gent pass for the
present hoping he will do better
hereafter.
pap I would like to see you I
would like to see you coming to pay us
a visit if it were not for the distance
[page 2]
I was in hopes we would get up the
river & then you could have come to
see us But I think the war will
soon come to an end the prospect
is better now than I ever saw I think
we we will all be at home in six
months. Well I must close for the
present write soon & excuse this
bad writing.
Your with Yours with respect
