Catharine I will write to you
a gain to let you know how
I am getting a long I am well
and hearty at this time I was
detailed as nurse in the Hospital
this morning we have a good
many sick and wounded here
but there is none from our Regt
I hear that the 97 has been in
a fight since I left them but
I cant find out what there
loss was they are a bout fifteen
miles from here I have got a
good place to stay at here and
I expect to stay as long as I
can get too stay I have not
heard from you since I left the
Regt bu[t] I think William will
send my letters to me the
first chance he gets I think
we will soon have it fixed

so that we can get mail
sent here I saw one lot of Rebs
Prisners pass here day before
yester day ther was eleven hun
dred and sixty and yesterday
I saw six hundred more
pass by here there has been
very hard fighting a bout Atlanta
for the last week but our men
is still gaining ground we have
lost a sight of me[n] and have
killed lots of them I am sure that
we will rout the Rebs at Atlanta
and I think there army will
be cut up so bad that it will
end this campaign I see a great
many of our woun ded being
sent north I love to see them
go home where they can be atten
ded too I will soon have to
go on duty I am on duty about
six ours in thirty six the rest
of the time I can go where I

please there is a bout 25
sick men in the ward where
I stay it a great deal easyer here
than at the Regt I hear some
very heavy cannon towards Atlanta
this morning I guess some boddy
will get hurt I will have to close
this and mail it or it will not
go out to day I will write to you
at least once a weak I am looking
for some of the boys in from the
Regt every day and I think they
will fetch my letters in dont
be uneasy a bout me for I will
do the best I can this thing is
bound to end before long and
we will get to come home
