March the 29 65
Well Catharine I will write to
you a gain but It has been so long
since I got a letter from you that
I dont know what to write we have
had a long hard march from
Buford to this place we was a
bout two months on the road
I thought I would get a lot of
letters when I got here but I
have not got any yet from you
all the rest of the boys got a bout
a half dozen a pice they tell me
that I have out lived all my
friends but I still live in hopes
that I will get a letter soon
I dont know how long we will stay
here the country we have come
throug is level and swampy the
land is but little account

the timber is all Pine and
sweet gum to day is very worm
and looks like rain there is
some talk that we will be payed
off a gain before we leave here But
I think it is doutful I sent
$60 dollars home before I left
Atlanta & I sent ten dollars
in a letter form savannah & I
expressed $25 dollars to you to
Bloomington when I was at
Buford I have heard nothing of
it yet let me know if you got
any or all of it the health of
the Regt is first rate some
thinks the war is about over
but they may be disapointed
I think the Rebs is whiped
but I dont know when they
will quit fighting I see by the
boys letters that there is lots of
men volonteering at home

I will not write any more
now for the Band has to go out
to drill this eavening I will
write a gain as soon as I get a
letter from you this me and
Wm both well and I hope it
will find you all well
