Alfred Roberson Letters

Alfred Roberson (b. ca. 1823) was a Martin County, North Carolina farmer. At the time of the 1860 Federal Census, he and his wife, Prevey (b. ca. 1830), were living on their farm near Williamston with their two small children. Roberson (the family name was also spelled Robason) served as a private in Co. B, 40th North Carolina State Troops (also known as the 3rd North Carolina Artillery). Alfred Roberson enlisted in New Hanover County on August 29, 1863, was wounded at Fort Anderson in Brunswick County, NC on February 3, 1865 and died of his wounds two days later.
