Dear brother I seat my self
to write you a few lines this leaves me only tolerable well
hopeing it will find you well and all
the famly engoying good health
I have not got much to rite
that wold interaest you we are
here close to wilmington yet looking
for a fight ever day I dont see
much prosspects for a fight my self
the wether is powerful bad raining
at this and we have not but Six
Small tents to the Company and
over a hundered men our tents wont
hold but Six men So you se by
that a bout two thirds has to ly out
I have not sleept in a tent
but 3 nights in a bout 5 weeks
I was in hopes when we went
back to Savannah we would get
to stay thare but we only got to
Stay thare 3 days if we had stayed
thare I think I could have stood the
Camp lief the best kind but as cold
as it is here I think it will ware me out

a Sustitute if it cost you half what
you have got when you try it you
will think so two it is now raining
very hard ever thing I have got is wet
and there will be no other chance
only to take it on the wet ground to
night it is awful I dont see tha reson
that it dont kill all I think if eve
I get home I never will leave the

it has bin most a month since

I got that Saturdy you ort to try and get

high plant a heap of Potatoes if you was to
plant all that patch down below
the gin house it would pay powerful
well I think it would pay 3 times as much
in Sweet and Irash potatoes as any thing
else you could plant it in be sure and plant
them Fruit trees I want you Joe to do the best

I never come back I noe no more how long
we will stay here than you do I see in the papers
