Dear Margaret I set my
Self to rite to you a gain this Leaves me
well hopeing these few lines will find
you and the childering well John is a going to
Start home now in a few minutes I
have not much nuse to rite I have
not had nothing to do since I come of picket
yesterday this Eavning I went a cra
fishing and I caught a bout a half
Bushell not that I wanted to eat
them but Just for past time we can
here the yankey cannon fireing
ever day or two Just I gess
I will bring send the Palmettoe by John
if you want any more Rite to me and
I will send it by Manning Gore wich
will be in a bout two weeks John will
bring you that money and if you nead
any thing you buy it if you will buy
that Brandey and send it to me a long
as I need it I can make a heap of money
off of it Shore be Sure and Send it to me

I would not care if you would send ten
gallons the first time you better not
send it untel John comes back he will
bring it for me safe put it in a good box
tha have bin oppening boxes here in
Savannah at the Depo when tha ant
no bodey with them but if John is with
it will come safe you try to get Joe
to get him a Substitue and if he noed
what was good for him he would
do it to for he will never stand it
Shore and thare will be no chance
to get a discharge I would be glad
