Dear Margaret I seat my self to rite you
a gane I have not got much to rite we are
here in 7 miles of Jacksonvile yet at the
same place wher I was when I rote before
this leaves me well hopeing it will reach
you & the childering engoying the Same
blessing the yankeys have all gone back
on ther Gun boats but I dont noe
how long tha will stay we will not
have no fight unless tha come on
land out from under the cover of there
Gun Boats if tha do that we will attact
them a mediately Gen Phinigan has
given the Command to Col Mitchell
of the 29 Ga Reg of all the troops here and
by that I exspect we will Stay here
all the winter we cant tell though
one what we will have to do next thats
very uncertain I had rather be back
