Kings ville S. C. Dec 16 1862
Dere wief I rite you
a gane we orderd to charlston but when
we got thare we ordered rite on and
we dont no where two but it is supposed
by our officers to Fredricks Burg virginia
as [sue?] [????] rite Road for that
place when we was ordered the order
was to cary nothing but a blanket as
such we have no close but what
we have on and a vlanket it is verry
cold now Nath Lipscomb he was
sick he is at camp I will rite to him
to bring my close when he comes but I
dont noe when that will be we are
135 five miles from charlston on the
road to richmond and I am confident
thare is where we will land before
we [stop?] we drawed 4 days rashions this
morning of hard bred or crackers and
Bacon I dred the conciqunces of going
to virginia at this season of the year
we met this morning the remains of General
Tom Cobb whoo was Killed at [1]
Fredricks burg you rite if you get this
soon and direct your letter As before
and make it get to Savannah
