Dear wief I seat my self to write you a gane I received
your letters on yesterday one dated th 18 & the other 21 of Jan I was glad
to here from you and that you was all well the only letters I
have got since you sent that one by boin this leaves me
a bout well with my cold hopeing it will find you
all well the weather is powerful cold here now
it snowed a little on yesterday but to day it is fare and
cold tha taken our enfield Rifles from us yesterday
and give us new guns the Harper Ferry Rifles with
Sword Bayonet I had rather have them than the
Enfield tha are shorter and easer toated tha are still
looking for a fight here but I have looked for it untel
I have given out it comeing atall you rote me what
I thought of the war and when I thought it would
close my oppin is this that when ever the solgers
throughs down there armes and goes home
