Camp Young Nere Savannah Ga March 10th 1863
Dear wief I Seat my Self this morning
to rite you this leaves me well hopeing it will find you
all well I went to the Car shed yesterday morning
to meet John in hopes I would see you but
I was sadley disappointed and I am mightey
Sorry of it for Margaret it is verry uncertain
how long we will stay here or where we will
go & you could have come to see me while
I was here and it mabe So after a while
that you cannot come to me I shall not never
rite to you to come a gane I See it is
no use for me to So I will drop that Subject
for ever after this you mite have noed
if you waited for Father to get redey to come you
would never come them fellows left my
box in Atlanta to be Shipped next day
after tha left and it is uncertain when
I will get it not untel ever thing Spoilt
I dont exspect for I will have to go on
pickett in the morning on the Islands
and we Stay thare 3 days at a time now
that will be fryday night before I will
get back I dont noe what all is in it
but exspect the most that is in it will
be Spoilt by that time

me three letters I was glad to here from you
I was sorry to here that you had a sore Jaw
you had better go sum where and have
that peace of tooth taken out
I was So badly disappoited all a round
when John landed I was mad and flusterrated
so I went to the Gibbins Hotel the
finest one thare in Savannah and got
my breacfast tha have a fine barroom thare
two at only one dollar a drink
and the result was that I have a
desperate Head ache this morning but
I think it will Soon be all right
ever thing is quite here now I dont
apprehend any danger of a fight here Thare
is good many Troops going to charlston
now I would not be supprised if we did
not go thare to before many days we have
bin pooled and halled about so much that
I have got so I dont care much where we
are soon be one place as a nother
you must rite to me soon I will rite
to you as often as I can so no more
at present only remain your ever
