yazoo Citty Miss June 11th 1863
Dear wief I seat my Self
this morning to drop you a line
this leaves me about well a gane
hopeing theas few lines will find
you and the childring all well
I Shall go to my Regt this Eavning
or to morrow morning tha are about
5 miles from here Shang Mclartey
was in to see me on monday
last he ses tha are about to perish
for sumthing to eat in Camp
it is starvation here about th
Hospittal Shore thare are great
many sick soldiers here thare
sum dying ever day thare is one
now close to me that will not
last many minutes longer the
Soldiers gets no attention

ware dogs one [???] [is?] thare is
so many sick come I gess thare
is 2000 sick ones here now
I am in hopes father will
come and bring me [sub?]
but he may be to late about it
I hope not it is Darkest
looking time now that [???]
Confederacy the fact of the
buisines is this what is dun
here will have to be done
soon for we will perish for
warter and sumthing eat our
poor boys in vicksburg I am
sorry for them we will march
on the yanks in a few days [I?]
think write soon Direct your letter
to this place as I rote you to Walkers
