Camp Neare Dalton April the 10th 1864
Dear Margaret I Seat my self to
drop you a line this me well all only Bad
cold hopeing it will find you all well
I have not got any nuse of Importace
to write ever thing quite here at present
but I dont noe how long it will remain So
Thare is a rumer here now that our Division
will go to long Street and One Brigade is to
be mounted that is as much as one
Brigade the report is that them that is
able to mount them Selfs if that is So I am
going to mount if I can Nip will help me
Sum & I think Father will help me get a
horse if we are ordered to va and go round
By Rail Road I Shall come By home
Shore and it is my impresion now that I will
never go to va unless I am carryed thare
in Irouns I want you to send that Lignumvita
By Billy Gilbert he will give you the receipt two
