Beanes Station July 13 1862
Dear wife I imbrace the present
oppertunity of Riting you a few lines
to inform you that I am well at
present hoping that thes few lines
may find you all well & doing
well I havent much to Rite at this
time I have found part of my clothes
but tha took my black pants &
all my Socks but one pair &
all my thread pines & kneedels
I am very well fixt I got all of
my paper & my Shirt & Slipes
my cotton vest tha thowed a
way at the gap & my fine Shirt
I Saw my fine Shirt the other day
one of our compney had it but my
2 Sutes is all that I can carrey
I had a good over coat but we had
to move about amile & I did not no
how fare I was going & I though it a
way it may be that I will git to
come home after while & then I can

when he comes home I have got the
honerbel office of drumer I have to
beat at 5..6..7..71/2 in the morning
& then at 5 in the evning & at 81/2
after nite tha talk very strong
of peace heare some times & then
thay Say we are going to fight it
out if tha are going to fight it out
I ame in & if tha are going to
make peace I would be glad
how soon I finish my letter this
morning & am Still well my Dear
if you want eny money you must
be Shore & let me no I by a heep that
I eat I bought 4 lbs of Butter last
nite & had the best Bate of hot biskets
& butter you ever Saw Capt Weaver
is very loo with the fefer I Sat up
with him nite before last he all
ways is glad to See me come to
Set up with him he Says I waite

a gallop with ther wagons & canons
& the foot men has to Run & I think
that there is Some danger of ther hoses
falling & a mans gitting Kild or crippeld
tha git crippeld very often I belive
that I will hold on to my Compney
I would be glad to go to Billey Marlows
Caverley compney littel Jim fulcher
& le Johnson & James Ritch is
all in that Compney tha come to
Noxvill that is in 45 miles of us
tha Sent howdy & ther best Respects
to me by one of the patrick boys that
belongs to our Regt I would be glad to
be with them if tha come & Join this
brigade I will try to go to them
but I no it ant worth while fur tha
wont let me go it looks like capt had
had Rather let eny body els of them
me I never have Reported my Self
Sick Cence I have bin in Camps

in this Compney as I would be in eny
Rite Soon Rite every chance I got
a letter from Hammonds the other
day tha was all well Sister Suse
Sent me a Ring I havent ansurd ther
letter yet you & Mrs Kircus must put
your letters to gether & pay time about
that is the way me & W P is doing the
next letter will be Sent to her I
believe I have Rote all that is worth Riting
tel the children that tha must be
good & mind ther bookes & tel
them all howdy fur me thare is
Rite Smart Sickness in our Regt
& men that has never bin sick when tha
take Sick tha hardley ever git well
I have no ide that capt weaver will
ever git well give Mr Polk & Mr
Kircus my Respects & to all enquiring
frends but keep the best your Self So
