My Dear and
Loving wife by the help of cind
providence I am abel to Rite you
afew lines to in form you that I am
well & doing as well as could be exspe
cted hoping that thes few lines may
find you all well & doing well I
Resevd a letter from you last mon
day nite witch I Resevd with grate
Joy & Satesfaction to heare from
you & to heare that you was all well
I will Rite alittel to day & alittel
tomorrow & maby alittel a Sunday
I must tel you that we took the
master March we was orderd to mar
ch at 6 oclock last tusday evning
back to the Clinch River we marcht
allnite til about 2 hours befor day
we came in Site of the River we all
lay down I lay down with the Sweet
driping of me & Jest as day
broak the Coln hollard fur us we

marcht about 2 hundred yards & took
up camp we Stade thare til Wensday
nite at 11 oclock we was orderd to
march a gain & we marcht Rite back
to the Same place at Beans Station
whare we Started from we marcht
all nite we got back about 1 hour
by Sun in the morning & was turnd
over to Bartons Brigade he was to
a come & took charge of us yesterday
but we are under his Comand lis I
must tell you me & J. P.. Freeman
went out a wensday while we was
at the River & baught 4 doggers of
corn Bread for 5 cts & 3 frying chickens
fur 25 & I had a pluge of tobacco with
me that cost me 5 cts & the old
lady give me apeck of Beans fur that
& I went back to the camp & got a big
oven & cook them that evning
I eat the master bate you ever
Saw we put on our chickens to
bile & we Jest got them dun before
we had to march we Jest went to

haver Sacks & when we got home
next morning we had had the
master bate of Besquet & chicken

aletter last monday & tusday I Rote
part a monday & then wated tel
tusday So I could let them no
how you all was I beleave
I will wate til to morrow un less
we are orderd to march if so I will
Send it the way it is good morning
this is a pleasant Sabeth morning
I did not Rite eny yesterday I am
Still well fat & Sasey &
Truley hope that thes few lines

Some kneedels & Some pins&
