it is with grate plasure I take
this oppertunety to Rite you afew
lines in ansure to one I reseved
last nite witch gave me grate
Satisfaction to heare that you
are all well & doing well I would
be glad that you would Rite alittel
more at a time & alittel oftener
if you can make it convenient
I hant got aletter from you cience
last monday nite was a weak
it jest lackt 1 day of being 2
weakes & it look to me like
you could Rite aletter every
weak the letter I Sent home
this day was aweak I Sent
a picture withe Some change
in it fur you to pay postagee
with & the letter was in Mrs
Kircus you Stated that
Sus & lise was thare & had gone

To lawarnce vill I got 4 letters
well I belive tha was 6 from
Zeno whitneys tha Rite very
often lis I must tell you
that I Saw Marvel Jackson
last thirsday that is he went
home a thursday I askt him
if he wanted his money & he Sade
when the ware ended & I got
Ritch he would cal on me
he wants me to go & live on
his land & put up shop I told
him I would see about it we are
a looking fur a fite heare evry
day the yankes was firing ther
canons on our caverly all day
yesterday but I hant heard
the Resulet we took Some pris
ners & Sent them to the cumberland
gap on pay role Capt Yeiser
& 25 of the 3 Ga battalyon
went with them with a flag
of truce & on there Return
the yankes fired on

& wounded 15 of them & wounded
3 of there own Colns that was coming
out with our men & the other day
tha Sent a lewtenent Coln & 25
men again with a flag of truce
& tha never have Returned I doant
no what tha mean tha wont
give a man a furlow under no
con siderations & all that is at
home on furlows is Sent fur
tha Started after them yesterday
morning & those that Refuses to
Come will be chained & fetch
by force Send Thomas O Wilson
that lewtenent Williams has
got his money & thare is no
chance to Send it onley by
letter lis be Shore & Send him

you that I have found me
a Sweat hart heare by the name
of Harret Elisabeth Shelton
She is as prety as Red Shoes

last thursday & I took her picture

yesterday I had our pitures taken
with her handen me a bunch of
flowers She is prety & I belive her
mother is alittel pretyer tha want
me to eat dinner with them but
tha was a nother man with me
& tha did not ask him to eat
& yesterday I was ablege to eat I got
a good dinner & as much Sider as I
Cold Drink & then my girle
baket me 2 cakes of wheat bread
& dident charge me eny thing fur
baking it & her mother onley
charged me 25 cents fur the
Sody milk & flower is worth
8 dollars per pound & Sody is
worth 2 dollars per pound
She lits on like She thinks
a heep of me & when I told her
that I was marred She took
aharty cry about it & Sade

the soldiers & that She had
picket on me & has got foold
& She sayes that She ant going
to try arey nother She ses that
She entends to live singel the
balance of her dayes you must
rite soon as you git this letter
& let me no whether you have
got them or not thare will
be no body to Send money by
I want to no if you are needing of
it & if you are I will Send it by
mail & if you are I will Risk it of corse
we have tite Rools over us now
the order was Red out on dress
perade the other day that we all
have to pull off our hats when
we go to the coln or genrel
& you no that is one thing I wont
do I would see in hell before I will
pull off my hat to any man & tha

W. H. Baley come yesterday
& he fetch me a letter from
Thomas Wilson that Stated
you was all well it may be
that I will Send you a letter
in one that I Send to Mr Wilson
I think I will Send him one to
morrow I must Close tell the
Children all howdy fur me
tell mary that I have got
the pretys littel bucket She
ever saw that I intend to fetch
her if I ever git home So farewell
