wife it is with the gratest of plasure
that I Seat my Self to day to Rite
you afew lines to let you no that
I field better to day then I have for
better then two weakes past but
I am very weak I have wated til
this late in the weak before I
would Rite in hopes every day
that I would git a letter from you
but have faild to do so yet the
mail hant came in to day but
will be in a few minuts when
you mail your letters on friday tha
git heare by the next friday or by
monday eny how & it is wensday now
& no letter yet I hope that this letter
will come Safe to hand & find you
all well & doing well & when you
git this letter let me no how long
it was coming & then I will no
what day to Rite on I got a letter
from you that was maild Dec 26
& Sent to manchester tennessee &
you sade in the letter that
you would Send Some money to me

to the conclushion that if I git shet
of a heep of Stuff that I am carring
with the exspctation of fetching hom

be better off in the long Run I

& Such Stuff I think is unwise to
be luging Such truck I want you to Rite
evry friday & then I will git one a
weak I Stopt Riting Jest now to Shoot
at a coon & I exspect that tha will
put me under gard fur it if I had
a got the coon I would not a card
the yankeys is all heare with ther
gun boats & tranceports but tha
Stay on one Side of the River
& we Stay on the other & I hope that
we will Stay So Some Say that we
will go back to tennessee & Some
Say we will go to north carolina &
if I cant git to come home I had
Ruther go to North carolina fur

& bisket thare to eat & that agrees
with me very well I could eat
a half dosin good Shortend bisket
& 18 fride eggs & 3 cups of coffey
& more then that I would give
2 dollars & 50 cents fur Jest Such
a bate I want to git a full bate
eggs & butter & bisket & it will cost
me somthing fur eggs is worth
1.50 cents per dos butter 50 cents per
pound & flower is 50 cents per
pound or 40 dollars per hundred &
black peper 4 dollars per pound &
coffey I doant no how hye but 2
cups will cost 50 & 6 biskts 75 & half pound
buter 75 & 2 dozen eggs 3 dollars & then
50 cents fur cooking of it So my bate
will cost 5 dollars & 50 cents So no
more but Remains your true & loving
husband until deth Rite as often as
you can & let me no all the news
