Dear Wife I take my
pen in hand to inform
you that I am well at
presant hopeing that
this will find you
and my little boy well
I want you to rite to me
and let me know if you
got that ten dollars from
thomas kile or not
that I sent to him for
you by Ritchard smith
john isan is gone to with
vill and I sent fifty
dollars by him
to send by mail to
thomas kile for you
I want you or your
father to go after it for
I rote to him not to let
any body else have it

I want you to get enuff
of corn to do you until
corn comes agin for it
will get so hie that
you cant get it atal
we have the coldest wther
that ever I seen
the snow on the mountains
is a bout needeep
the wind blows the

Mr Brooks is gone to
Withvill to have atrial
levi and tom Wilson went
home without a furlou
and if they dont come
back soon they will
be published as deserters
it is so cold that I will
quit good bye
