and was glad to hear from
you and famley this leaves
me well and harty and
all the rest of the Boys
I have no News of
importance to comunicate
to you wat [other] than we are
a looking for a fight
hear every day our
company has mooved
from Savannah 5 miles
South of Savannah
you Said you wanted me
to Send you some Pouder
But I cant git eny hear
in Savannah it is 2 dolars pound

you heard that I was
ded and Barried but I
am not ded nor Baried
it was all a miss stake
I way 176 Pounds and
the Best man in Savannah
by odds & tell Dick that
I cant come home and if
he wants to volantiear he
had beter do it quick I
want him to come to our
company So I must
come to a close at Present
So I remane your true
friend Chesley Payn

old Place
