Camp Troop Near savannah Ga Aug 1862
Dear Sir i seat my self in order to let
you no that me and O C [1] is not well
at this time but not bad off at the
same time hoping these few lines may
Safe to hand in due time and find you
well, i Received your letter in due time whitch
you sent me the Company is all Generly
Sick with the Chills an fever, we
are now fixing to move about
six miles to leave this sickly place and
go to another one i would be Glad to get
to see you but so it is i do not no when
ever that time will Come for i have
to stay here and watch for yankees
and see none for we have had no
fighting yet and i dont expect that
will have at all for the yankees is as
fraid to attact us as if they knowd
that we would kill them all

body to ceep him to take him you self

O C Payne sed for you & L M Payne to horse
take him off and sell him if he is
in selling order and if you can get
140 Dollars for him it is O C Payne horse
